Frequently Asked Questions - Modifications
What are "Covenants"?
Every new homeowner received (if you didn't get it contact Goodwin Management) a copy of "DECLARATION OF COVENANTS, CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS FOR WOOD GLEN" which is a legal document setting forth several rules to be followed by homeowners in our subdivision.
Do I have to read the whole thing?
It's a good idea to do so - but at least you ought to become familiar with ARTICLE X: RESTRICTIONS ON USE, RESTRICTIONS ON IMPROVEMENTS. It covers most of the things that affect living here.
You mean there are restrictions on what I can do to my own property?
Yes, there are, particularly to the outside of your home and to your lot. Most modifications are subject to review and approval BEFORE you make them. See Article IV, Section 4 on page 16 for what needs review.
How and where do I get approval?
Download the Modification Control Committee Form (Word .doc) and follow the instructions on it.
How long does that take?
Your request is electronically sent to the Modification Committee by Goodwin Management and is usually acted upon within two weeks (though 30 days are allowed).
