President’s Letter
President Grace Capwell |
I can’t say thank you enough to all of you who completed a Wood Glen POA Capital Improvements Master Plan Survey this past spring. We received 274 surveys to gain a majority opinion about our future plans for capital improvements. The Capital Improvements committee, with input from the Board, is now prioritizing ideas based on that feedback. That priority list will be distributed as soon as it’s available. Some of the survey results are included in this print issue of our newsletter but at press time we did not know how much of the survey would be able to be printed. The page size and editorial content amount is determined by advertising sales after the editorial copy is turned in. An electronic eNews email will go out to our mailing list and provide links to the complete survey data. More good news to report is a successful garage sale day and a successful backyard ant bait pick up day. We had awesome weather for both which does not hurt the turn out. Thanks to Kathy and Don Wood Realty for sponsoring our promotions and signage for the garage sale. And thanks also to Wood Glen volunteers working both programs: Jen Johnson (garage) and Leslie Myers and Sue Kernan (ant bait). |
We are diligently keeping an eye on the pool cleaning as well. If you see problems at the pool, please contact our management company. Our representative is Marilyn Childress and her phone number is provided on the signs as you enter the pool. Also, we are going to solve the broken pool furniture problem. The Florida-based company that sold us the furniture is expected to report whether or not we can still get warranty benefits even though our 3-year warranty just expired. We will either repair or replace the damaged furniture regardless. Thanks for your patience while we work this out.
Congratulations to our Yard-of-the-Month winners this May – the Beck family on Whitehurst. Also, many thanks to Karen Fischer and her new landscape committee volunteer judges for re-establishing that program. Each winner gets a $50 home improvement gift card.
I wish I could always report good news but this month comes with sad news of a Wood Glen family losing their pet to a rattlesnake bite. I am grateful to them for sharing their news so the rest of us can be aware and safeguard against more loss. It’s one more example of how many very fine people live in this neighborhood. Thanks for keeping the communication lines open.
Best regards,
Grace Capwell
