President’s Letter
President Grace Capwell |
If you’re like me, it’s near February and already the New Year’s resolutions are not being kept as they should. I thought about writing some resolutions on behalf of the board to you, the Wood Glen residents, so we could all be on the same page for 2008. But, if keeping resolutions is hard enough personally, I don’t expect an entire neighborhood to keep them. So, let’s whittle it down to a few, should we say, priorities? It’s not a four-letter word like diet and it’s only a few, so it shouldn’t be too daunting. So, here goes… The board receives feedback from many residents throughout the year.
|
Pretty basic isn’t it? It’s not complicated but takes an effort on everyone’s part to keep things up and be respectful of our neighbors. While we all do those things, the Board will lead the following priorities for the year:
- Common area fence repairs
- Mail box covers with lighting and new bulletin boards
- Amenity center upgrades and master plan
- Web site upgrades and resident poll taking
These priorities are above and beyond the ongoing activities like social events, the ant bait control program, common area landscape maintenance, pool and playground upkeep, modifications approvals, communications and more. The amenity center priority is discussed in detail in Rex’s article. Please read it and then give us your feedback when we send out an upcoming poll about the subject. We’ll send it online at first, so if you are not on the Wood Glen mailing list, please sign up (it’s easy!) at www.woodglen.org. We want and need your opinion, so please take the time to respond.
I’m also happy to report that we have a new Section 5 representative. Ms. Donna Tucker has volunteered to take over the spot going forward. She has written an introduction note to her section in this newsletter. Don’t miss it.
Now, if you’re unlike me, and you keep your New Year’s resolutions, then we need someone like you to serve in any capacity for the neighborhood!
Best regards,
Grace Capwell
